If you aren’t our immediate family, you may not watch our follower count twice daily and so we wouldn’t blame you for not knowing we now have 30,000 of you lovely people on insta!!! Also this month, and probably more surprisingly, marks one year of us consistently delivering a newsletter to your inboxes for each of the 12 months which is wild. We have something exciting in the works to celebrate these milestones but for now, here’s our fave place to eat and stay, and where to have on your radar for the thirteenth month running. Hope you (still) love it!

Where we've eaten

Seeing as we are the only two (bitter) people left in this world to have not tried the Tamil Prince, or its second takeover the Tamil Crown, we jumped as soon as we caught wind of Tamila; the team’s third and most Southern outpost. Switching it up from their pub reinventions, Tamila is a new concept to bring their bold, elevated South Indian flavours to a casual food hall setting. With the window into the dynamic kitchen and the family-style servings flying out, there was an infectious energy all evening that made it hard to believe it was a Tuesday eve. Do not miss the onion bajis - these were some of the best we’ve had - the tandoori chicken, the Thanjavur chicken curry and the gulab jamun (we can only describe them as warm deep fried syrupy sponge balls). Combining the myriad of exciting flavours and textures with the purse-friendly tab at the end makes it worth the hype and then some.

Where we've stayed

We are still pinching ourselves that we have stayed in this jaw-dropping Grade-II listed landmark but we’ll try to act normal (!!). The property houses 108 rooms, 4 dining rooms and 3 sitting rooms, of which the original features have not only been kept intact but are respectfully accentuated by luxe fabrics, extravagant patterns and rich woods. Not forgetting the outdoor pool and those iconic strawberries and cream striped parasols. Luckily the weather played ball and we spent the afternoon out here with a cocktail. There’s so much beauty in this hotel we need to unpack - dedicated blog incoming - but this hotel is definitely one for a special occasion. A stay here comes with an eye-watering price tag however we can almost swallow that as our entire stay was absolute perfection. Just brace yourself for that final bill…

Where's we've got our eye on

This has been on our radar for some time so we are writing this here to take some accountability for our next booking. Think scandi warmth, delicate pastas and communal dining. Opened earlier this year, Darling’s brings an intimate and cosy sanctuary to the otherwise industrial Fish Island. Founder Egle Loit made a recent detour into pasta-making and by the looks of things, thank the heavens she did. The menu is short and considered, featuring the classic Italian primi plates with unexpected flavour twists alongside her glorious pasta creations in all shapes and sizes. See you there x
